We love our home! It was built in 2007 using Structural Insulated Panels (Panel Pros, Westmorland, NH) for their super insulating value and economy. An array of 125 solar collector tubes on the roof warms 250 gallons of water in a basement storage tank. With any solar gain, this heats domestic hot water and water for a radiant floor heating system. Architect Christopher Strange, (CT) worked with us to put our ideas into a workable plan which incorporates closets, laundry and storage rooms as a buffer to the north. The lot was chosen (Craig's List) and the house was situated to receive maximum solar gain. We look forward to showing you our installation and sharing what we have learned.
