This just-completed installation is believed to be the first in Tennessee to use module maximizer technology, which puts the maximum power point tracking function under each panel rather than centrally at the inverter. Most importantly, this allows different roof orientations to be used in one array. It also minimizes the effects of shading on portions of the array from adjacent roofs, and boosts production by eliminating the typical problems of module mismatch and dynamic power point tracking variance. Gary Wolf, owner and NABCEP-certified lead installer for Sundog Solar Energy, will be on hand to explain this technology and answer general questions about solar energy.
