This tour showcases a 60 tube PV powered solar hot water system that provides 100% of the domestic hot water for Williams Farm from May to October and radiant heat for a 180sq ft attached greenhouse. The tour will emphasize the key elements of efficient system design for producing solar hot water in northern latitudes and will also demonstrate how to set up a web enabled logger that can monitor over 100 sensors at a fraction of the cost of commercial loggers. The outstanding performance of the Williams Farm solar hot water system is displayed on the Internet at www.sunnyhotwater.com using charts of live data, updated once per minute, along with a system diagram showing the status of temperatures, solar irridiance, pumps and a sky cam showing the present sky conditions.
