Our photovoltaic panels were installed in October 2018. There are 24 panels with a total peak power of 6 kWp. The Solar Edge phone app shows that from the time of installation to July 22, 2021, our PV system has produced 5.02 MWh with a savings of $2112.51 and an environmental benefit of saving 14,865.5 kg of carbon dioxide emissions.

We had long been interested in solar energy as a form of clean energy. After reading about the Wisconsin Sierra Club’s group buy, we asked for a bid from Sun Vest, and found out it was affordable due to a combination of decreasing panel costs, the Sierra Club group buy, Focus on Energy support, and federal tax credits. The installation was subcontracted to Appleton Solar, which did an excellent job.

The photo shows the 14 panels that face south. There are also 10 panels on a garage roof that face east.
