About this open house
Two blocks from the East Falls Church metro station, our home shows that it can be worthwhile to use even a relatively small roof space to offset much of our annual electric costs.
Get a good view of the installation from across the street. While you're here, check out our info table in the front yard with snacks, laminated pre- and post-solar Dominion Energy utility bills and graphs of our solar energy production since the system came online in May 2019. This event is lawn only, with no access inside the house.
Our 6 kW system comprises 19 panels, including 5 in the historic 1905 section of the roof and 14 on the modern addition. The inverter is Enphase and we do not currently have battery storage or an electric vehicle (or charging system) but we would be ready to add a quick charger for a plug-in.
Solar PV modules are Hanwha QCELLS QPEAK
System features anti-squirrel protection around perimeter of all arrays and aesthetic skirting along the bottom edge.
Our solar system was installed by Ipsun Solar in 2019.
What is a solar open house?
See solar panels up close, ask questions about how solar works, learn about why people in your community made the choice to go solar, and connect with other people in your community who support solar energy.
This event is free and open to the public - everyone is welcome to attend. Whether you are a solar owner, completely new to solar, or somewhere in between – this event is for you. Stop by for a few or stay for a while!
