98 Solar Panels on Thomas Blvd

October 6, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm - October 8, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

We love solar so much that we added more solar panels twice to our original roof mount solar array. In 2012 we installed our first 34 solar panels on the roof (7.82 KW). In 2013 we added a 40 panel solar ground mount system (11 KW). In 2020 we added 3 solar pole mount arrays with 8 panels on each pole (8.88 KW). Our biggest consumer of electricity is a geothermal/gas hybrid heating system for the house. We also have 2 electric cars that charge via a NEMA 14-50 220 volt plug at the back of the house. On the side of the house is a large garden operated by a local non-profit Grow Pittsburgh. I’m Fred Kraybill and I’m a local climate activist (or climate hawk) and a renewable energy and electric car nerd. Let’s talk about how we can and will rapidly transition to the sustainable energy and transport future because the solution to pollution is renewable, it’s doable!
