Albertson Memorial Library Solar Project

October 1 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm - October 1 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

The Albertson Memorial Library chose to install Solar Panels mainly for the cost savings. Utilities were our largest expenditure after wages. We also wanted to educate our community on solar power. Our first objective has been met. After one year, our electricity expenses have been reduced by nearly 60%. During the 6 months of the planning and installation process, we ran a series of articles in the local paper, posted on our social media and worked with our school. A class of High School photography students visited the the library regularly to photograph the progress, Elementary and Jr. High classes came to view the progress. The school used our project to focus the Earth Day lessons on Solar Power. When the project was complete, we had a photo display in the library which was up for a year. Many people visited the display. The photos are now in a binder for continued viewing.
