Appalachia-Science in the Public Interest Solar Tour
October 1, 2022 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm - October 1, 2022 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Appalachia-Science in the Public Interest (ASPI) has been a front-runner in solar technologies since 1979 when its former solar house on the Rockcastle River became the first completely off-grid solar energy system in the state of Kentucky. ASPI continues innovating and demonstrating renewable energy technologies and sustainable living, and the revival of its participation in the National Solar Tour will feature the Small-Town Demonstration Center in Mt. Vernon, KY and the Rockcastle River Wilderness Site in Livingston, KY. Visitors to both sites will learn about rural options for solar power and electric vehicles in public and residential settings.
