Frank DeWitt is a solar pioneer in New Jersey who also professionally installs commercial and residential solar systems. His home originally included a 10 kW ground mounted solar array and a tall wind turbine rated for 10 kW. But he discovered that the wind speed was not reliable at this location so actual output was only 5 kW. As a result, Frank later installed another 11 kW ground mounted solar array and a 10 kW Enphase solar battery system for critical loads. His home’s energy use is now completely offset by renewable energy.
