ASES National Solar Tour

COMPREHENSIVE CHANGE! • Out with the old- in with the new! • We added Solar Panels to our roof to supplement our electricity from PSE. • We removed our Gas Furnace and Gas Hot Water heater, and installed an Electric Heat Pump with Air Handler and Electric Hot Water Heater. • We installed an Electric Car Charger for our 2020 Tesla Model Y. A&R SOLAR • Northwest company does a great job! • Installed 28 Solar Panels on our roof in three days, including all permits. •Impeccable work done on time and at budget. • 30% Federal Tax Credit (2019) • Guaranteed minimum of 10,308kWh/year power generation EAGLE PIPE HEATING & AIR • Local company Installed heat pump and hot water heater • Installed an American Standard Platinum 19 Seer Side Discharge Heat Pump and Variable Speed Air Handler. • Installed a Barnett Rheem Pro Classic 50 Gallon Hot Water Heater. Removed existing GAS appliances. TESLA EV CHARGER • Maximum output of 48amps when connected to 240V line. • This adds 42 miles of charge to the battery- meaning a full charge (usually at night when I am sleeping) takes 7 hours. • Combined with my solar panels I am paying just pennies per mile to drive. CONCLUSIONS 1. With our Heat Pump we have a very even temperature all of the time- winter and summer. We never had air conditioning before, and now we are comfortable every day of the year. Our water heater is comparatively inexpensive compared to gas and has a very fast recovery time. 2. Our PSE Electric Bill for August of 2019 was $101.56. And we had NO air conditioning! This August of 2020 our bill was $19.01. 3. We drive our electric car for merely pennies a mile. 4. With all of the fires and devastation during the summer of 2020- we believe we are doing our part to answer the call to help reverse climate change.
