Solar for Nonprofit Oak Tree Corner
Oak Tree Corner is a nonprofit based in Dayton, Ohio that provides grief support groups for children ages three through 18 who have lost someone important in their life. Oak Tree Corner provides year-round support groups in three counties surrounding Dayton, and is free of charge for all families.
In fall of 2021, the Solar Ambassador Fellows at the University of Dayton helped bring solar to Oak Tree Corner! Lauren Bower, a Dayton Solar Ambassador says, “It’s really cool that we were able to partner with Oak Tree Corner because of all of the good that comes out of the project. Not only is the energy they use now cleaner, but the nonprofit will also now have more funds available for their mission.”
Oak Tree Corner’s main motivation for going solar were environmental concerns and to reduce their environmental footprint. Oak Tree Corner will save more than $28,500 off the cost of electricity by going solar with RE-volv over the life of the system. Oak Tree Corner plans to use this cost savings to host additional family meals and picnics for the families they serve. By going solar with RE-volv, Oak Tree Corner was able to go solar for $0 down and save 15% on their electricity bills.
