Urban Passive Solar House and Architect’s Studio

Open to visitors in person, BUT BY APPOINTMENT.  I am very happy to spend time with any number of people, and answer any questions about this or other projects, but I would like to meet with people one household at a time, rather than have an open house event.

The building consists of an Urban Sustainable, Home and a Studio. The Home is passively heated by a “Trombe Wall,” resulting in a near zero energy bill. The Studio is tempered by direct solar gain, moderated with a “Sun Bender,” resulting in slightly higher energy expense. The cooling on both is very economical, due to careful orientation. The project also incorporates water harvesting and other strategies for sustainable living.
