Our 39 panel, 13.35kW Sun Power rooftop systems, installed in 2015 ad 2018, are situated on 3 faces of our mid-century split level home. The panels are SunPower. The Siemens charger powers our Tesla 3. Our new 18 panel, 6kW LG system doubles as the roof for a new carport, which sports a SolarEdge EV charger for our Nissan Leaf. RevoluSun did all three installations. We’ve recovered 80% of the cost for the first 2 systems through tax and SREC credits, and employer incentive rebate, and power generation. Details will be available on the tour. The power generated by the first 2 systems covers 47% of our electricity needs, which include 3 air source heat pumps with 6 heads (both heat and air conditioning), and the 2 EVs. If we’d cut down some trees it would be more. We offset the grid power with New England Wind local wind energy credits. We installed 3 Fujitsu ductless mini-split heat pumps in 2015, but replaced one that had chronic problems in 2021 with a Mitsubishi unit. An air source heat pump also heats our water. We have an induction cooktop, which we love. Our only fossil fuel use (propane) is for our outdoor grill and backup generator.
