A’s and O’s Farm Home Tour

October 8, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm - October 8, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

A’s and O’s Farm has approached sustainability from both the energy and the food directions. It is a small organic farm that uses solar panels to generate most of the electricity needed for the farm, including separate solar systems for for water pumping, greenhouse cooling, and crop protection. It also grows multiple food crops and hosts an organic food co-operative in an improved section of the garage.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn some solar fundamentals and to check out different solar energy applications. There also is a primitive geothermal system, a 1972 Honda N600 car converted to electric power back in 1993, an assortment of different types of photovoltaic applications, and multiple examples of different inverter technologies.

This tour will give you a hand’s-on opportunity to gain useful self-sufficiency knowledge to use at your own home, farm, or business. Stop by anytime during tour hours, or take the Saturday guided tour bus that includes this as a stop.

From October 6 to 8, 2023, hundreds of people across the nation will show off their solar homes and businesses. During this week, solar owners and supporters will have a chance to connect, ask and answer questions, and participate in a nationwide virtual solar experience.
