Helios Net Zero Energy Home

HELIOS is our Net Zero Energy solar home in northwest New Jersey. Built in 1984 as a passive solar home we have added solar hot water, roof mounted solar pv and own panels in a local community solar system. Also we’ve removed all inefficient and gas fired equipment and replaced them with five heat pumps for space heating, a heat pump water heater, and electric range,

We’ve been driving electric vehicles since 2012 and charge up using a 240 volt Level 2 charger in our garage . We monitor the energy use of our home and we have achieved Net Zero Energy use for the past two years.
