Jeffrey and Dina live in a 2,380-square-foot single-family home in Fayetteville, AR. They installed a 5.2 Solar array in June 2022 and offsets 99 % of our electricity used. The panels are South Korean, made by Hanwha. They are the Peak Duo, Black, MLl-G10+400. The inverter is the Enphase IQ7-60-2-US.
“Ozarks Electric service charge for electricity, plus about $25, is all we pay, annually, if you average our bills for the year. Two of us live here, but we have a lot of weekend company” – Dina expressed.
Homeowners also use double-pane windows and blinds, and light-blocking curtains to keep the sun in or out. They compost their organic scraps and use them in their garden. They collect rainwater in a barrel and water the garden with it. They grow many pounds of okra, tomatoes, asparagus, green beans, and various greens in our organic garden each year.
