This home was built in 1998 and is located in an energy-planned and environmentally sustainable subdivision, South Sun Estates on the Lake, near Rogers, AR. Since the original construction, some improvements have been made, but basically. This home is passive solar fabricated insulated concrete forms (ICF), tested twice by a HERS rater to measure and make assure the air-tightness of the home.
The utility bill, on average, is $17.99, which is the utility company’s base fee. In the video, most of the energy features are described for further understanding.
The home is planned for aging-in-place, so the homeowners can stay in the home rather than go to live with relatives, or to a nursery home.
