We have installed three complementary systems: A passive solarium in the front, a geothermal heating (space and hot water system), and an 8 kW array to power the geothermal system. The array not only produces power but also shades our back patio. With this combination, we no longer burn any natural gas.

Our home site features a 13.8kW ground-mounted PV system. The home is heated via a geo-heat-pump system connected to in-floor radiant heat. When building the house, we used insulated concrete form construction for the basement addition and spray foam from top of foundation to peak of roof.
